Privacy Statement

Bedford Gardening Club processes membership data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation.

  • Membership data is stored using secure software. Data is processed by the Committee Secretary, Membership Secretary and Chair, as well as other committee members who may help out from time to time.
  • Data is stored so that we can keep members, and non-members signed up to our mailing list, informed of club activities and events. We may also hold data relating to specify accessibility requirements, as well as the interests and skills that members are willing to share with us to aid planning. Anonymised data may be kept to allow us to plan and monitor club activities.
  • Membership data will not be shared with members beyond the committee unless specify consent is give, e.g. to arrange shared transport for a visit. Data will only be shared externally if there is a legal reason for doing so. 
  • Members and those signed up to our mailing list can ask to have their data deleted at any time, members will need to cancel their membership. 
  • Where membership is not renewed, membership data will be deleted within three months.
